WKU – Soccer/Softball Complex

WKU – Soccer/Softball Complex

Bowling Green, Kentucky

“…extraordinary complex is equipped with space for training, for studying and for team meetings.”

Western Kentucky University’s new state-of-the-art athletic complex serves as home to the Hilltoppers’ soccer and softball programs. The extraordinary complex is equipped with space for training, for studying and for team meetings. The facility includes dedicated locker rooms, offices, training turf with batting cages, athletic training and nutrition space, and a team room/classroom. In order for construction to be complete for the WKU women’s soccer season, KGEI worked on an accelerated design schedule.

Our team provided a high-efficiency HVAC design for the offices and locker rooms with accommodations to dehumidify for year-round occupant comfort.  In addition, the heating and ventilation system in the practice area has the option of being automatically controlled by campus-wide BAS or manually operated by the occupants to ensure it meets the needs of the student athletes while avoiding unnecessary operation.
