“A MUCH-NEEDED PROJECT FOR OUR COMMUNITY…”

The Men’s campus of the Healing Place provides resources to men in need of addiction recovery services. The non-profit organization serves men and women struggling to overcome drug and alcohol addictions. To help address the community’s growing substance abuse challenges, and expansion of the space was inevitable. Throughout construction, the facility continued to operate at full capacity. The addition totaling over 100,000 square feet fully opened in January of 2019. The two new, four-story dormitory buildings provide 200 additional beds to the homeless shelter facility while doubling the number of beds in the detox facility. The residential units are located on the second through fourth floors with laundry facilities and communal spaces on each floor allowing interaction among residents. There is also a new administration building located on West Market Street in downtown Louisville. Since the expansion, the number of men it serves is 6,500, a 66% increase. Programs at the campus include services for homeless veterans, detox, expanded intensive outpatient services, and transitional housing options. Kerr-Greulich Engineers, Inc. is honored to assist in this much-needed project for our community.
