“AWARDED FOR EXCELLENCE IN ARCHITECTURE DESIGN…”

In 2016 Kerr-Greulich Engineers, Inc. teamed with Hubbach and company to design the Maker’s Mark 46 cellar – a facility awarded for excellence in architecture design from AIA Kentucky in 2017.

The 12,000 square foot building houses up to 2,000 barrels and resides in a cave dug into a shelf of limestone made from controlled dynamite clearing. The project, one of Kerr-Greulich Engineers Inc.’s most unique jobs, features specialized HVAC system designs that were crucial for the critical environment required for the perfection of Product 46.

  • Combined natural rock structure with a fluid cooling system to keep the interior temperatures precise
  • Innovative “green roof” designed into the building structure
  • Lightning protection
  • Systems designed to accommodate a barrel dump and fill station, along with a tasting room
