Kerr-Greulich Engineers, Inc. designed mechanical and electrical systems for Anderson Elementary School located in Madison, Indiana. The school underwent significant changes including both renovations of, and additions to, the existing facility. The project consists of additions that include a 15,000 square/foot classroom wing, a 2,300 square/foot kitchen, and a 6,200 square/foot gym. Renovations in HVAC and electrical systems were made to existing classroom areas and the cafeteria. Energy efficiency features were utilized in all aspects of design for this project.

  • Air handling units efficiently aligned above corridor allowing easy access without disturbance of classrooms
  • Variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system throughout the facility
  • Dedicated outside air units (DOAU) installed in the new kitchen, cafeteria, and classroom additions
  • A new 480/277V, 3 phase electrical system
  • Addressable fire alarm, centralized digital clock, and PA systems
  • Kitchen exhaust hoods, exhaust fans, and make-up air units
  • Rooftop gas heat systems provide for the gym addition, with easy access for service and maintenance
  • New LED lighting and low voltage, energy-efficient lighting control systems
