Kerr-Greulich Engineers, Inc. is pleased to announce that three of its projects with Western Kentucky University (WKU) have recently been awarded LEED certification. All three projects, Gary A. Ransdell Hall, the Music Hall and the Augenstein Alumni Center, are part of WKU’s $500 million campus master plan that is addressing the continued growth of the university.
Gary A. Ransdell Hall was the first LEED building on WKU’s campus, with a 38.5% energy reduction and a 30% water reduction. The Music Hall has a 24% better than average energy performance, a 35% reduction in water consumption and 75% of construction waste was recycled or salvaged. The Augenstein Alumni Center is 16% more energy efficient than an average building and 20% of the materials used were regionally sourced and 20% of the materials included recycled content.
