21C Museum Hotel

Form and functionality are emanated at 21C Museum Hotel located in historic downtown Louisville. The development renovated four existing 19th century buildings into a five-story progressive, contemporary hotel which includes a restaurant and art gallery. The New York Times called 21C “An innovative concept with strong execution and prompt and enthusiastic service”. Kerr-Greulich Engineers, Inc. rose to the challenge by providing innovative the mechanical, electrical, fire protection and plumbing design and engineering for this major renovation project.
Highlights of KGEI’s design include:
- The latest energy recovery technology for exhaust and outside air designed and installed to provide simultaneous heating and cooling for each room.
- Waterfall in glass wall cavity was used to supply water to urinals.
- Rooms were equipped with occupancy sensors to conserve water when unoccupied.
- Presentation and art enhancement was achieved with custom fabric fixtures and RGB color morphing LED luminaires.
