Farnsley Moremen – Chapel Restoration
This mid-19th century chapel was moved to the Farnsley Moremen Landing in 2013. The goal of the renovation included preserving the historic facility while providing a beautiful space for weddings and other special events. A support building was constructed adjacent to the chapel to offer supplemental space to the one room chapel.
Kerr-Greulich Engineers, Inc. carefully designed the building’s mechanical and electrical systems to improve the aesthetic impact of the historic structure.
Highlights of KGEI’s design include:
- Electrical service is provided to the chapel from the support building.
- The lighting design was key in highlighting the architectural elements and restoration of the facility.
- A geothermal heat pump system was designed to maximize the energy efficiency of the building and to support the sustainable design goals for the project.
- Low flow fixtures were used to minimize the water use of the facility.
