Brady Corporation was founded in 1914 producing promotional photographic calendars, color displays, printed glass and roadside advertising. Today, the international corporation continues to grow; labels, tapes, software, signs, pipe and valve, tags and absorbents are all segments within the organization. In 2014, Kerr-Greulich Engineers, Inc. (KGEI) was consulted to assist in the relocation of Brady’s Sorbent Products Company from New Jersey to Louisville. The 148,000 square foot lease area of the industrial building is a strategic location central to the majority of SPC’s customers. The relocation required close attention to detail throughout the entire process. The positive design and engineering experience for the re-location enabled KGEI to extend our relationship with Brady Corporation. KGEI has now commissioned additional work in other locations within the North America group. Mr. Eric Stundtner with Brady recently said, “Our ongoing, positive experience with Kerr-Greulich Engineers, Inc. has given us tremendous respect for their engineering and technical ability.”
Highlights of KGEI’s design include:
- KGEI performed as Brady Corporation’s advocate throughout to ensure their best interests were met, including financially. Through KGEI’s detailed project management, Brady saved over 20% of their original budget.
- KGEI sent a team of engineers to their plant in New Jersey who inventoried every piece of equipment.
- KGEI completed a portion of the process engineering.
- KGEI served as project manager for the process engineering.
